Saving the Falkirk Council online planning portal after maintaining a “security breach”


The service, which is generally accessible on the Falkirk Council website, allows developers, community groups and other interested parties to search the planning registry for the status of any claims that may have been filed with advice.

However, councils across Scotland, including Falkirk, were urged by the Scottish government to shut down their respective planning portals on December 15 last year after a potential security issue was identified with the software. as a planning portal used by a number of local authorities.

A spokesperson for Falkirk Council said: ‘Like all other Scottish councils, the Scottish government advised us to remove our planning portal on 15 December for essential maintenance.
