The Revised Lead and Copper Rule (LCRR) creates challenges for water supply systems of all sizes, especially those serving disadvantaged communities, including inventory requirements for all utility lines and lead in the system and begin testing in schools and daycares for the presence of lead in drinking water.

As a leading provider of solutions for managing major programs across the country, 120Water has worked with more than 250 systems across the United States on water programs impacting more than 15 million lives.

In an effort to share best practices and arm water professionals with the critical actions needed to comply with the LCRR by October 16, 2024, 120Water will host free 30-minute planning sessions through January 31, 2022. These one-on-one sessions will also include answers to questions about the impact of the latest rule on a specific system. Water supply systems will be given a self-assessment questionnaire to complete before the meeting to help guide the discussion.

Water networks can book their planning session at 120water.com/lcrr-assistance.

The LCRR marks the most significant changes in 30 years to the rule of lead and copper. A recent study by 120Water shows that most water supply systems are not ready to comply with the decision, and may not have the foundation to apply for funding under the $ 1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that went into effect in November.

“The Revised Lead and Copper Rule (LCRR) is the most complex drinking water regulation that water professionals must comply with,” said Megan Glover, CEO of 120Water. “120Water has worked in the trenches with clients who defined the first game plans that all utilities can now follow in order to meet CRRL compliance needs and secure funding. We are delighted to share these playbooks and our expertise with all utilities looking for additional know-how to meet new LCRR requirements.
